‘Your smile is important. It’s the way you communicate your joy to the world.’
– Dr. Surinder Arora
Dr. Surinder Arora qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in the UK and has undertaken postgraduate studies. Her journey into taking a biological and holistic approach to healthcare started outside the clinic as she began to explore the effects of meditation and nutrition on health. Her role as a dentist is now all about putting the mouth back into the body. She sees dentistry as both an art and a science and places you as a whole person at the centre of her care. She firmly believes that your oral condition is a true reflection of your overall well-being. Her passion and dedication to her role is fuelled by a wish for you to simply have a confident and healthy smile. Understanding the mouth-body and mind-body connection are essential pieces on the journey to optimum oral health.
We have a tendency to compartmentalize and segregate different areas and parts of ourselves. In reality, all systems of the body are linked. The physical manifestation of illness often indicates a lifestyle, mental, emotional or energetic imbalance. Dr. Arora enjoys educating and sharing on how you can take ownership of your dental health. She is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and is SMART certified. Dr. Arora carries out most dental procedures including consultations, scaling and polishing, periodontal care, pain management, restoring broken teeth, removal of teeth (dental extractions), crown and bridge placement and working with dental ceramics as well as Invisalign and myofunctional therapy. She has undergone further surgical training in wisdom tooth removal and placing dental implants.
Having worked in multiple UK hospitals as well as in general practice across the UK and Singapore, Dr. Arora has a wealth of experience. Patients often comment on her warm and friendly demeanour. She is the past Vice President of the Singapore Dental Association’s Oral Health Awareness Committee and is a firm believer in preventative dentistry. She volunteers her time on the Singapore Dental Ethics committee as well as to projects both overseas and in Singapore.
Out of the clinic, Surinder is a health coach, reiki master, teaches kundalini yoga and holds mindfulness clubs in Singapore. She also writes for various publishers and is studying a Masters degree in Public Health with a focus on the well being of dental professionals and reducing disease in the population in order for communities to thrive.
